Principal Suzanne Sharkey and Vice Principal Amanda Mills team together with Luke Robson, Emma Jane Thomas and students of SEC to choreograph and perform SYNERGY... the interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements.
Suzanne had a successful professional career as a dancer in the late 80s & early 90s, dancing for choreographers such as Jeff Richer, Jeff Thacker, Paul Telford and Brian Rogers. Other achievements are choreographing trade shows for companies such as Honda, BMW and Wella.
Miss Sharkey has been the principal of Shelagh Elliott School of Excellence in Liverpool for 14 years, during this time she has choreographed solo & group performances for college & school productions & nationwide competitions. A winner of outstanding choreography for the last 5 years at the ISTD Janet Cram awards as well as producing class winners in all age categories, her students have been group winners of North West dance competitions with the submitted piece, Places ( Video displayed above).
Shelagh Elliott Clarke is the longest established performing arts school in the North West, celebrating our 90th birthday in 2015. As principal Miss Sharkey prides herself on delivering technical excellence across all ages. Our passion and expertise has resulted in producing students not only with technical proficiency but employable and with a touch of class. Many of our students are now working in the west end and all over the world.
Amanda is Vice Principle at Elliott-Clarke delivering Classical Ballet, Jazz Technique and Choreography. A key part of her role is developing leading industry contacts and promoting employability within the college. Amanda has over over 10 years of teaching and choreography experience from Scottish Ballet Company Class Teacher, Broadway Dance Center New York, Coupe Theatre Studio New York, The Pulse and The Hammond. Her performance work includes Scottish ballet contemporary workshop series, MTV Album Launches - Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Fashion shows, PR events and film premeires. Amanda is a qualified RAD Ballet and ISTD Ballet and Modern Teacher who is currently studying a Masters in Education at Edge Hill University.
Luke attended Bird College, achieving success as an outstanding graduate. He went on to become a resident Choreographer at Shelagh Elliott Clarke at a young age after being spotted by Suzanne Sharkey. He regularly works on choreographing collaborative company pieces with students to promote the college across the North West and beyond. His inspirational teaching style and creative influence have inspired students to push boundaries and re-think their approach to what dance can be.

With over ten years teaching experience, Emma has earned her reputation as a diverse Commercial dance teacher and choreographer, delivering workshops and dance intensives to schools and colleges throughout the Northwest. Emma’s extensive teaching experience has led to many creative links within the community including choreographing for numerous art based events and fashion shows to performing as a backing dancer for the European M.T.V. music awards. Emma Jane divides her time between teaching students at Elliott Clarke’s Centre of Excellence, Kate Simmons and The B.B.O. and teaching on both the dance Diploma and Degree course at the Hammond school where Emma is the coordinator for both The Hammond Performing Arts experience and Their Associate programme. Since joining The Hammond in 2006, Emma has continued to develop her professional skills and in 2010, gained her certificate in education. Emma is also a fully qualified freelance Mat work Pilates and Yoga Instructor and delivers 1-1 and group sessions for fitness and rehabilitation to clients in the hot room at We Love Yoga, Chester.
